Nadine's Altered Box with Mini

When I first started this blog I posted a picture of the Altered Box and Mini I made for Nadine from a swap on Paper Phenomenon, one of my Ning Groups.  Any who, here are some pictures of her box and mini that she made for me.  It is truly a work of Art!  As of yet, I haven't added photos to it, I'm waiting for something really special.  I still ooh and ahh over it to this day.  Thanks Nadine!!

Mini For My Sister

I have been working on a new mini and have decided it will go to my sister Valta aka Susie.  In this mini I used the Mariposa Paper Stack by DCWV, which as you can tell by the photos it is a Butterfly Themed Paper.  I love Butterflies and this is one of my favorite paper stacks.  I basically used chipboard though out, with the thicker chipboard for the cover.  I used the Zutter Bind it All to create the Binging.  Later I will be posting a YouTube Video of my creation, as I'm not able to show every picture on my blog.   I'm ScrapNDaze on YouTube so stay tuned.  Feel free to become a follower here and on YouTube if you like.  Happy Scrapndaze!!

Shabby Chic Vanity Project

My most recent project is a furniture redo.  My boyfriend Thomas was about to throw out this old vanity that he had out in the shed.  At first I said I didn't want it, but then I got to thinking.  Yes, yet another project!  LOL  Shabby Chic has become very popular these hence my project began.  The vanity was brown in color and the sides are somewhat recessed in and had some damage to it so I improvised and put wainscoting in the recessed areas. This has actually added some character to the vanity.  I'm painting it a pale mint green and then will later glaze over that with a type of brown glazing.  The glazing should give it an antique look, or at least that is what I'm hoping for.  Here are pictures of my work in progress.  Thanks for following my blog and enjoy my furniture redo journey!  Stay Tuned!!

My First Copic Class

I went to my first Copics Class the other day.  We learned what is called Copic Petals.  This is using the pointed tip of your Copic Marker to make petals and leaves by incorportating them into stamps that you may already have on hand to dress it up a bit.  The pictures are the 4 cards we made during the class.  It was a fun time.  Can't wait for the next class!  Jacque the class instructor created the wreath and bird house from some of her orginal art work that she then shrunk down to a size we could use for the card.  She really needs to have stamps made from these pieces.
